Adrienne Watson
Oh, yeah, I recognize the voice” and “gee, you look shorter in person” are the two phrases most commonly uttered when someone meets me. I was Adrienne Nardo when I began my radio and tv career in New York 16 years ago. Then I married the little Mister, and changed my name to Watson. I’ll answer to either name: Nardo or Watson. Or even, “hey you”.
I began my radio career at WBCN in Boston– Boston’s # 1 rock station. After realizing that 10 blizzards in 4 years were just too many, I returned to the Garden State. And you know, one job just wasn’t enough so I wrote computer manuals, did amateur stand up, and worked in advertising. And in my spare time, I went to hockey games (GO DEVILS!). Then, I ran into Stan Fischler (don’t worry, I didn’t hurt him) and worked with him for two years at Devils games at the Meadowlands.
Next, I was hired by Metro Traffic to fly in a helicopter. Then I moved inside the studios at Metro, where I worked weekends doing WFAN traffic reports. I’ve been doing traffic on Mike’d Up w/ Mike Francesa since 2005.
You’ve probably also seen my mug on TV: over 8 years filling in on Fox 5, then 4 years as the traffic reporter on Good Day New York. Now I fill in on WNBC, Channel 4.
I’ve been working fundraisers for various children’s charities for the past 15 years and also volunteer for animal rescue organizations.
And in my spare time (what’s that?) I do voice overs and on-camera work. My word, how do I do it? Chocolate! ..and lots of it.
