    Evan,

While i respect you and Joe’s feelings towards this super bowl based on the jets fan’s perspective, I think you unfairly dismissed that caller yesterday who stated most giants fans would root for the jets against philly, dallas, etc.

I am a mets/giants/knicks/islanders fan. Of those, the only two teams I can’t root for in ny are the yankees and rangers. Even after all rex’s bluster, I don’t hate the jets and rooted for them last two seasons in afc title game. And i know a decent amount of fellow giants fans, and i can say most would feel similarly, to give it a percentage would be arbitrary but i’d confidently say more than half.

Also you touched on how mets fan’s felt during yanks/phils series, obviously it was hellish, but the way I answered that is to tell people I was rooting for the yankees to lose less, bc i couldnt root for either to win. I’m with you though I’ve seen too much bile from philly fans that they always are the team i root hardest against. To each their own as far as reaction goes, but that was me. Keep talking about selig doing nothing to wilpons when its clear theyre hamstrung, we need a voice even if it won’t make an immediate impact.

    Dave

  2. Tom Genin says:

You and joe ar nuts if you think that even 1% of Giant Fans are routing for the Cowboys or Eagles over the Jets.

The Jets are like France. We may complain about France, but we don’t really have the disdain for France as we may have for Iran, North Korea, or Al-Queda, etc.

Jet fans hate the Giants, because of Jealously. Sorry, Jet fans, but you don’t rate high enough to rate our hatred of the Eagles or Dallas.

    Evan,
I listen to your show every day and since I’m on the road its helps keep me going. I listened today and you Joe do nothing but complain abouit going to Indy. So why are you going there? How bad can it be?
Your going to stay at a nice hotel do your show there eat some good meals have alot of entertainmet and see the Super Bowl. There is about a millon people who would change places with you in a second. If you told me you were going Syracuse to watch the Super bowl I would understand. Stop complaining No one wants to here it. Go watch the Pacers when your in town. There playing better then Nets and Knicks put together.

  4. richard says:

    Evan,
You are slipping into the “to be honest” preface to your statements again. You need to be more aware. It sounds like the dummy’s that you interview and you need to be above that as a radio show host.
That being said, you guys are great and it is a pleasure to listen to hosts who talk about sports. It makes the shock jocks like CC seem infantile,
Keep up the good work. Joe too.
    Richard

  5. Richard says:

    Evan and Joe,
In MLB the decision to play a game is in the hands of the home team before the umpires are given the line-up cards. It is the decision of the home team up until that point. When the cards are handed to the ump, the decision is then in the hands of the umpires and major league baseball. Not the other way around.

  6. richard says:

    Evan,
I listened to you and Joe filling in for Mike today. Not one “to be honest”. It was such a pleasure.
Your take on Beltran was right on target. He just didn’t jump up and down every play so people thought he wasn’t trying. He was just so graceful it covered up the level of effort.
Now we just have to turn you into a Giants fan lol.
    Thanks for the great listen

  7. Richard says:

    Evan,
I get the feeling you lie a lot. Why else would you say every other sentence something about “being honest with us”. Learn how to speak english. It will make your good ideas and opinions much more effective.

  8. neil stein says:

Hi Evan- Listened to you this morning talking about alzheimers. Really great that you brought it up related to Girardi’s dad. My wife was diagnosed at age 55 (2005) with a rare degenerative brain disorder. She is now in the end stage. She has dementia (similar to alzheimers) which has robbed me of a loving wife. This most cruel disease and other s like it should be in the forefront of medical research and discussion. Thanks again for comment, Neil Stein

  9. Jake says:

Evan, even though I am a die-hard Yankees fan since being at the Stadium when Mel Stottlemyre made his Yankees’ debut, I enjoy your perspective on sports. Even though you are a die-hard Mets fan.

  10. Jake says:

Evan, today you mentioned that local baseball radio announcers almost never mention when the local team’s pitcher hits a batter they never say that it was intentional. During last night’s game Yankees-Royals Robinson Cano got hit. Later, A.J. Burnett hit Franceour. As a Yankee fan that cannot stand listening to John Sterling’s schtick and not letting a game get in the way of whatever he wants to say, he did mention that Burnett hitting Franceur “could be retaliation.”

  11. Brian Daniels says:

First host on your station to credit Joe Torre under Cashman for burning out the arm of Scott Proctor. I couldn’t agree more.

  12. Brendon says:

    Evan,

I am a fan and enjoy your Mets coverage and knowledge. But man were you off on the Big East player of the year this morning. Made it sound like Hansbrough had no shot when most had him pegged as either favorite or co-favorite. They were right. Keep up the good work.

  13. Ira Freedman says:

Super interview Evan did with Sandy Alderson today!!

  14. Stu says:

I enjoy the mid-day program, on WFAN very much. Evan, you are of the most knowledgeable sports broadcasters, and being as young as you are is very impressive. I happen to be a Giants fan, but cannot help root for the Jets in this impressive run that they’re on. I know that you are a huge Jets fan, and came across an item on Ebay, that you might find of interest. It’s a couple of rare and vintage pennents. Just go to Ebay.com, and type in the item number. It’s 180614250142. It’s pretty cool. Take care and keep up the great work at The Fan.- Stu

  15. Frank says:

For all you Jets non believers when Gang Green beats down theSteel curtain will you finally give Mark and Rex the recognition they deserve? I was a 49er fan for years and also a huge USC fan and the first time I saw Mark Sanchez I knew he was going to be something special, so the Jets draft him and I am now a Jet fan….. Mark Sanchez is a class act unlike Brady.

  16. SAL DOG says:

Did the Jets win the Super Bowl already? 20-10 STEELERS. Do you REALLY think the Jets will win 2 games at Pitt in the same year? Will give you the first one because you needed it more. Now it’s put up or SHUT UP time in OUR HOUSE.

  17. John says:

  18. rich says:

your show is one of my favorites, you and joe are great. but in all seriousness, this is not a stab. someone makes a lot of noises in the background when guests are talking on the phone, it’s either coughing or sniffling and it is very disturbing. i will continue listening either way, but please bring an end to this noise! and tell the other dj’s, especially mike to please stop eating while your on the air. no one wants to hear someone chew or swallow in a mic. keep up the good work and the carl banks’ and antrel rolle’s spots are awesome! GO GIANTS!!!!

  19. Mike T says:

Joe you should host a show just for fantasy football, not enough content out there. At least half the guys in my office are in different FF leagues and I think the FAN is ignoring the popularity of fantasy football.

  20. frank iovino says:

    hey evan
every once in a while you talk about your political view points on your talk show, you’ve called youself a pround jingoist , are you excited about the comming elections…

  21. ad says:

I 1000 percent agree with ev wins mean nothing!! santana would have 15 – 20 wins right now if he was on a team with any kind of offense!! DOESNT make him any less of a pitcher cause he doesnt have those wins …….not his fault

  22. jOHN dERTINGER says:

    Evan.

HI. i AM A WFAN LISTENER FROM THE BEGINNING. bACK IN THOSE DAYS I WORKED IN A MUSIC STORE IN HEMPSTEAD, L.I. AND MADE FRIENDS WITH JANICE AND JOEL ROBERTS. 23. marco says:

if i guarenteed the mets would make the playoffs for 2011 on the one condition that you had to remove 2 out of these 3 players from the roster for next year jose reyes, david wright, carlos beltran would you sign for it
