Rich Ackerman
Rich Ackerman joined WFAN in 1997 and has served in a wide variety of broadcast roles over his nearly 20-year career, with experience as a play-by-play voice, talk show host and news anchor for some of the nation’s leading networks and affiliates.
He was the play-by-play voice for the Ivy League Game of the Week in 2008 and the inaugural Legends College Basketball Classic in 2007 for Versus, and also called the action for the NFL Network’s NFL Europe telecasts in 2006 and 2007 after five years of calling Euroleague basketball for NBA TV, where he was also a studio anchor.
In addition, Ackerman has served as Westwood One Radio’s nationally-syndicated “Tonight in Torino” show during the 2006 Winter Olympics, co-hosted Sirius’ daily morning talk show host, “Tip-Off,” on the NBA Channel in 2007, and served as a studio anchor for ESPN Radio, where he hosted the network’s coverage of the 1997 NBA Draft Lottery.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Ackerman is a graduate of New York University.
