Todd Glickman
Todd Glickman has been an on-air meteorologist at WCBS Newsradio-880 for over a quarter century, having begun in 1979. His reports can be heard “every ten minutes on the eights” as part of Traffic and Weather Together.
He was awarded the American Meteorological Society’s (AMS) Seal of Approval for Radio Weathercasting in 1979; and in June, 2005, was awarded its newly established “Certified Broadcast Meteorologist” credential. In 1996, Todd was elected a Fellow of the AMS, which is a grade of membership for those who have “…made outstanding contributions to the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences or their applications during a substantial period of years.”
Todd’s full-time job is serving as Associate Director of Corporate Relations at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which manages the relationship between industry and the university. Prior to working at MIT, Todd was Assistant Executive Director of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) from 1995-1999.
Before joining the AMS, Todd served 15 years at Weather Services International Corporation in a number of capacities, including Manager of Media Marketing and Manager of the Government Program Office. Todd’s radio weathercasting career began at the MIT campus radio station WMBR 88.1FM, when he was a student there.
Originally from Roslyn Heights on Long Island, Todd attended The Wheatley School (East Williston School District), and then received his Bachelor’s degree from MIT in 1977. He received his M.B.A. from Suffolk University in 1988.
In his spare time, Todd serves as an Instructor at the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine, where he teaches the Museum’s volunteers how to operate streetcars, subway trains, and transit buses; and is an officer of the Technology Broadcasting Corporation, which is the licensee of WMBR-FM, the MIT student radio station.
