The Church Steeple was grounded, the lighting struck the tip of course and travelled down the ‘ground wire’ into the earth to a depth of 3″ above the 80 year old water main constructed of lead and steel – The Ultimate End to the electrical charge. Lincoln Avenue in Rockville Centre, a county road, has not been adequately plowed since the Christmas storm. We are the only rental apartment in the area, we do not have a lot, and we have not been able to park within two blocks for a month. A phenomenal inconvenience for most of us, but unbelievably dangerous for the children and the seniors. Calls to the County Executive over a week ago were not returned within 24 hours as promised
