Suffolk County Exec Wants Speed Cameras Near School Zones

County Executive Steve Bellone asked state lawmakers for the authority to install speed cameras at about 20 sites near schools. Bellone said the move would help to reduce accidents and generate $2 million in revenue for the county each year.

Police Investigating Possible Gang-Related Fatal Shooting In Deer Park

According to police, two people standing in a group outside the bar opened fire when the white Cadillac pulled into the parking lot. The driver was pronounced dead at the hospital. A passenger was struck in the chest and a third person in the car was not injured, police said.
