NYC School Buses Rolling Again After Monthlong Strike

Regular bus schedules resumed on all 7,700 routes Wednesday morning. Around 5,000 of those routes and 152,000 students were affected by the strike.

NYC School Bus Service Set To Resume For First Time In A Month

Bus drivers and matrons represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1181 suspended their strike on Friday of last week. On Wednesday morning, nearly 150,000 affected students will have service back.

Bloomberg: Schoolchildren Come Out On Top With End Of Bus Strike

The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1181 ended its walkout on Friday evening after union leaders were assured by prospective New York City mayoral candidates that their concerns about job protection would be heard after this year’s election. They went on strike Jan. 16.
