Comptroller Stringer OK’s Settlement For Exonerated Central Park 5 Defendants

New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer on Thursday approved a settlement of $40 million for the five men wrongly convicted in the infamous 1989 Central Park jogger attack.

Report: City Agrees To Settlement With Exonerated Central Park 5 Defendants

A published report Thursday said the city has agreed to a $40 million settlement to the five men whose convictions were overturned in the rape and beating of a woman in Central Park in 1989.

Men Falsely Accused In 1989 ‘Central Park Jogger’ Attack Seek Justice

Councilman Charles Barron led a demonstration insisting the city compensate the “Central Park 5,” who were exonerated in the attack nearly 8 years ago, for their lost years and wrongful imprisonment.
