Police are searching for four suspects who they say robbed a liquor store last month in Brooklyn.
A man robbed five people this week after claiming to have a gun with a silencer, police said.
In each incident, the suspect entered the targeted location and pretended to buy something. When the employee opened the cash register, police said the suspect pulled out a black handgun and demanded cash before taking off, police said.
They allegedly wore masks and brandished handguns and knives. On Monday, charges were levied in a string of violent armed robberies on Long Island. Homeowners and store owners said there is relief now that five people have been put behind bars.
Many in Jamaica Estates were stunned by the brazen string of crimes in which the female victims — in their 50’s and 60’s — were pushed into cars, and in one case into a trunk.
The string of robberies has taken place all on East 170 Street, where the suspect has robbed four commercial establishments in three months, according to police.
