A folk music legend is lending a helping hand to a little Bergen County boy in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant.
Angela Rugh, a 22-year-old junior at the University of Pittsburgh came face to face with firefighter Doug Chiz at Fire Department headquarters in Downtown Brooklyn to thank him.
Erin Barone, now 17, was first diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 1997 and underwent a successful bone marrow transplant in 2003. Her doctors marveled at how far she has come since the transplant.
