A grand jury has apparently decided Redinel Dervishaj, 35, was acting in self defense when he allegedly stabbed groom-to-be Anthony Lacertosa with a butcher knife.
Anthony Lacertosa died early Saturday morning after authorities say he was stabbed to death when a brawl erupted outside the Espana Restaurant in Annadale.
Redinel Dervishaj, 35, was arrested Tuesday in Illinois. U.S Marshals, sheriffs and other law enforcement officials received a tip Tuesday that the accused stabbing suspect was hiding out at his aunt’s home outside Chicago.
Anthony Lacertosa, 25, was stabbed outside the Espana Restaurant in Annadale around 2 a.m. Saturday after a night of engagement celebrations.
“He was the happiest at this moment in his life, ready to start his own life, start his own family,” said Joseph Lacertosa, the victim’s brother.
Police interviewed several restaurant workers and took footage from a security camera installed on the pharmacy next door.
