Commuters just can’t catch a break. Fares and tolls will be going on up virtually everyone commuting or driving into and around New York City.
The MTA board voted on the proposed increases on Wednesday. Members unanimously approved the fare hikes. Only one member voted against increasing tolls.
Sam Schwartz, known as “Gridlock Sam” to many, wasn’t kidding Friday when said his new plan to raise $1.2 billion a year tolling the East River bridges will hit a lot of people.
The Cross Bronx Expressway and the Van Wyck Expressway are reliably awful, but some of the New York City area roadways are, according to the Texas Transportation Institute, reliably unreliable when it comes to traffic jams.
