A 5-year-old boy was killed Tuesday night, and at least eight other people were injured, when a commuter bus plowed into a Nassau County home.
A tour bus from Canada carrying about 60 people bound for a New York City overturned on a highway exit ramp in northern New Jersey early Saturday, slid down an embankment and landed on its side, injuring 19 passengers, authorities said.
The bus, operated by Designer Limo, was traveling from Queens to a Sweet 16 party in New Jersey, Port Authority spokesman Al Della Fave said.
The bus was bound for Ulster Correctional Facility, a medium-security prison. The prisoners were being transported there after being held in New York City for court appearances.
Authorities in northern New Jersey say a 90-year-old woman critically injured when she was struck by a commuter bus that then left the scene has died from injuries.
