The Silent Barn do-it-yourself art collective will be moving to a new space in Bushwick, Brooklyn, after its location in Queens was shut down by police and later saw all its equipment stolen.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Officer Kevin Brennan was shot at the Bushwick House, which is a housing project. The alleged gunman, who officials named as Louis “Baby” Ortiz, is also wanted in connection with a homicide earlier this month, Bloomberg said.
Monday morning, officials from Brooklyn and Harlem will be coming together to call for information in two shootings that left two women dead last week.
Police say 33-year-old Erica Mitchell and her daughter, 6-month-old Jennice Wilson, were last seen inside their home on Bushwick Avenue around 2 p.m Monday.
Authorities said a preliminary investigation determined the 30-year-old Sanitation worker drifted into oncoming traffic on Grand Street and Bushwick Avenue in East Williamsburg.
The fire, reported shortly before 6 p.m., hit the upper two floors of a four story building at 1150 Putnam Avenue near Bushwick Avenue.
