The coaching matchup in this game appears even. But the quarterback advantage goes to the 49ers, and the defense advantage also goes to the Niners. San Francisco will join the Steelers as the only six-time winners of the Super Bowl.
After the 49ers arrived on Sunday, it was the Ravens’ turn to touch down in New Orleans on Monday. They held their first media session at their hotel, the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
This Super Bowl will be filled with firsts — and one significant last. The Harbaughs, San Francisco’s Jim and Baltimore’s John, will be the first pair of brothers to coach against each other in the NFL title game.
The Jets still haven’t settled on a general manager. But in New York, the show must go on. Apparently so much the search for a new offensive coordinator.
This won’t be an easy game for the Giants, but they are catching a team that is going in the wrong direction.
The Giants must show a willingness to engage that has only been apparent on an every-other-game basis in recent weeks.
The madness continued in Week 14. The Chargers bombed the Steelers in Pittsburgh, the Falcons get Cam’ed in Carolina, the Pats flexed their muscles against Houston and the 9-4 Ravens fired their offensive coordinator after blowing a game in D.C.
