Garfield Residents Ready To Hand Over Toenail Clippings To Test For Carcinogens

In one section of Garfield near an empty lot, residents will be asked to help researchers who want toenail clippings to see how much hexavalent chromium residue they’ve been exposed to.

Toenail Clippings Could Determine Effects Of Pollution On Garfield, N.J. Residents

Researchers at NYU are asking for toenail clippings from some resident of Garfield, N.J., to determine whether they have been exposed to dangerous levels of toxic hexavalent chromium from a since-shuttered factory.
