Authorities said the suspects stole catalytic converters from vans owned by the charity AHRC in the middle of the night. It could cost as much as $25,000 to repair the vans.
Crooks have been removing catalytic converters off vehicles to make quick cash. Police said the platinum found in the car part can be worth as much as $1,500 an ounce.

The thefts happened between 9:30 p.m. Thursday at 9 a.m. Friday at the Hyundai dealership on Route 23 in Wayne.
