Rex Ryan and Marty Mornhinweg announced Tuesday that Sanchez would get the nod over Smith because he’s the incumbent, and Mornhinweg added that Sanchez “earned it.”
“Really, when it came down to it, I kind of felt like they were looking for scapegoats,” Schilens said in regard to the Jets. “And besides everyone except for, you know, maybe the quarterback position, and it was what it was.”
Wide receiver Braylon Edwards is active and will start for the New York Jets in Sunday’s season finale against the Buffalo Bills.
New York Jets tight end Dustin Keller and wide receiver Chaz Schilens did not travel with the team and will not play in the season finale Sunday at Buffalo.
The Jets have signed free agent wide receiver Mardy Gilyard.
Jets have given their fans reason to
Just be thankful that for one day, at least, the Jets gave themselves a foundation upon which to build a season. Now we’ll see if they’ve got the brick and mortar to turn it into an edifice worth looking at.
The Jets played a turnover-free game in St. Louis as they marched to a 27-13 victory over the Rams.
The Jets have their own Frankenstorm brewing as Hurricane Sandy bears down on the East Coast. It’s Hurricane Tim, colliding with weakening system Mark and growing in strength under the dark clouds of East Rutherford.
The miserable Jets were steamrolled by the Dolphins 30-9 on Sunday.
Ryan insisted on Monday that the Jets “go down to win,” and those who think that the team was playing “scared” in a 29-26 defeat are “ridiculous.”
Why not go all in? Bring Terrell Owens into the circus. Ryan can wear a ringmaster outfit on the sidelines, something the Jets could market in advance of Halloween. Set up three small rings on the sideline. Owens could ride in on a white horse.
The season just continues to spiral downward for Gang Green. Santonio Holmes will miss the rest of this season with an injured left foot, leaving the struggling New York Jets without their top offensive playmaker.
Shonn Greene is going to need to carry the ball 25 to 30 times and do for the Jets’ offense what Frank Gore does for the 49ers. It may not be pretty, but the Jets have to try to slug it out with the Niners.
Considering the Jets’ numerous mistakes, it’s hard to believe they beat the inferior Miami Dolphins.
