National Weather Service Confirms Tornado Touched Down In Elmira

A state of emergency remains in effect in Elmira as crews continue clearing trees and repairing power lines that were brought down by the EF1 tornado, which has maximum winds up to 110 mph.

More Charges For Driver In Fatal Crash Near Elmira

State police said the 24-year-old Upham was driving around 100 miles an hour when he crashed his car into a house, killing his passenger — 22-year-old Kaylah Morse of Painted Post.
