Chess in the Schools
The event, being held at 1 Police Plaza, invited 150 inner-city public school students between the ages of 8 and 18 years old to compete with 50 uniformed NYPD officers in a chess tournament.

A lot of kids give their brains a break during the summer, but others are using brain games to stay sharp.
When you think about the game of chess, you think about concentration, making good choices and having great sportsmanship, but a nonprofit is making players think about good grades, high attendance and lifelong friends.
