On Wednesday afternoon, a strange man allegedly offered a ride to four children on Tappan Road, near the Rockland County border. Fortunately, they did not go with him.
Another child luring has been reported in northern New Jersey – this time in Bergenfield – and police in neighboring towns have announced desperate measures to protect children this Halloween.
Investigators said the man in the sketch, described as a middle-aged white man, approached a 13-year-old girl as she walked to school on Lafayette Avenue alongside Voorhis Park.
Officials say Shahan Achian, 26, of Upper Saddle River tried to get the girls into his car at least six different times by offering them cash for sex.
According to police, the suspect approached a 10-year-old girl last Friday at 8 a.m., and then a 9-year-old boy this Tuesday at 6 p.m. while they walked in Bay Terrace.
