The stage is now set for the first College Football Playoff, and it is going to be fantastic. Unfortunately, somebody had to be left out of the big party, and this year the Big 12 saw not one but two worthy candidates be shutout of the playoff.
The Nittany Lions will make their first postseason appearance since 2011 when they play Boston College in the Bronx on Dec. 27.
Alabama is the top seed and will play Ohio State in one semifinal at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. Oregon is the second seed and will play Florida State in the other semifinal at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
