Monday’s parade, which runs from 44th Street to 72nd Street, is organized by the Columbus Citizens Foundation. It’s billed as the world’s largest celebrations of Italian-American heritage and culture.
Italian Americans celebrated their culture and heritage at the 69th Annual Columbus Day Parade in New York City.
The project is being built by Japanese artist Tatzu Nishi and supporters said it should not be viewed as offensive because it will allow New Yorkers and visitors alike to get an up-close look at Columbus high above the circle.
