Connecticut’s Department of Labor says approximately 27,000 tax forms mailed out to individuals who collected unemployment compensation last year contain a printing error that has information about another individual.
The recovered wages will go to about 3,000 workers who were not paid the correct amount or given overtime.
Typically, the drop is a good sign, but labor economists say the drop is due to a declining labor force.
The grant will allow the state to pay for roughly 120 new positions for up to 20 weeks for clean-up, demolition, repair, renovation and reconstruction of public structures and property damaged in the storm.
