The club has “had several conversations with Roc Nation Sports about Robinson Cano’s future with the team,” Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner told reporters on Thursday, according to the New York Daily News.
Though Cruz’s affiliation with Roc Nation Sports is not official, his decision to be represented by CAA is. The third-year player recently hired CAA’s Tom Condon to be his agent.
Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano, slated for free agency after the 2013 season, is moving on from super-agent Scott Boras. He has signed on to be co-represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports.
