Advocacy Group: Pump $2.4 Billion Per Year Into Fixing Dangerous Roads

An advocacy group said Tuesday said while the mayor’s program to improve traffic safety is admirable, it will require a lot more effort – and a lot more money – to make the city’s roads truly safe.

Study: Suffolk County’s Route 25 Most Dangerous Road For Pedestrians In Tri-State Area

The Tri-State Transportation Campaign found that 1,236 pedestrians were killed on roads in Connecticut, New Jersey and downstate New York between 2010 and 2012.

New Report Details Most Dangerous Roads In The Tri-State

Topping the list is the Hempstead Turnpike in Nassau County, where there have been 15 deadly accidents involving pedestrians from 2008 to 2010.
