Service on the F subway line has resumed in Coney Island after workers repaired tracks damaged by a signal room fire that broke out near the West 8th Street station Friday.
NYC Transit spokeswoman Deirdre Parker said the accident occurred at 77th Street and Lexington Avenue. The person was struck by a downtown No. 6 train at 2:24 a.m. Friday.
“We’re trying to dig out our stranded buses. We’re working very closely with the Department of Sanitation but many roads are still impassable,” said Deirdre Parker of New York City Transit.
