A New York City judge has tossed out a 1991 murder conviction against a man who says he was framed by a now-retired detective.
A man who was imprisoned for 17 years was released Tuesday, after a judge vacated his conviction on the grounds that evidence in the case was linked to a police detective whose tactics have come into question.
A retired New York City police detective continued to refuse to comment Monday about a review of cases associated with him by the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office.
