Jason Bay has been activated from the 15-day disabled list, and the Mets hope the All-Star left fielder will give their foundering lineup a much-needed lift.
If all goes well during a Monday meeting with Mets manager Terry Collins, outfielder Jason Bay could come off the disabled list for Tuesday’s game against Houston. “We’re going to see how he’s doing,” Collins said. “I just told him, ‘Let’s sit down and talk.’”

Jason Bay was scratched from the Mets’ lineup on Tuesday because of discomfort in his rib cage during batting practice, and the team acknowledged there was a chance he would start the season on the disabled list.
