Alyssiah Wiley’s partial remains were found on May 17 in a wooded area in Trumbull, about a mile from the Bridgeport home of her longtime boyfriend, Jermaine Richards.
The longtime boyfriend of an Eastern Connecticut State University student appeared in court Monday, three days after the student’s body was found in a wooded area.
State Police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance says Richards is being held on $2 million bail. He is due in Bridgeport Superior Court on Monday.
Alyssiah Wiley’s parents, state police and a state prosecutor spoke at a news conference at the Willimantic school Thursday.
Authorities say they plan to resume the search for 20-year-old Alyssiah Wiley on Friday morning. Police have been searching the campus area in Willimantic with dogs and interviewing people who know her.
