FIFA Women’s World Cup
Admittedly, I am finding it difficult to focus on one particular soccer topic for this column. It has been an eventful week on multiple levels.
Call them whatever you like, but the U.S. Women’s Olympic soccer team backed-up their perceived boastfulness by living up to expectations.
For a stadium that had seen so many epic clashes, yesterday’s Olympic semifinal encounter between the United States’ Women’s National Team and Canada was befitting of stadium nicknamed the “Theatre of Dreams.”
All over the Tri-State, people gathered to watch the US women’s national soccer team in the FIFA Women’s World Cup final, through moments of elation and despair.
Not since 1999 has there been so much excitement over the US women’s soccer team, as they’ll face Japan in the FIFA Women’s World Cup championship game Sunday in Germany.
