Conn. Gov. Malloy Unveils Own Gun Proposals; Calls For Immediate Ban Of High-Capacity Ammo Magazines
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy on Thursday called for immediately banning high-capacity ammunition magazines, requiring background checks for the transfer of any firearm and expanding the state’s assault weapons ban.
A panel was set to meet for the first time this week, after being ordered by Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy to recommend possible changes to state laws and policies in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre.
Recommendations by the panel will be made and presented at the national level, according to Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents executive director Dr. Joseph Cirasuolo.
