The driver of a 2002 Nissan Altima ran away after running a red light and smashing into a Greenwich couple’s car Friday night on West Main Street in Stamford, authorities said.
A 33-year-old man was hit just before 1 a.m. while crossing Fifth Avenue between East 15th and East 16 streets.
The accident happened around 1 a.m., as a 26-year-old man was trying to cross Pelham Parkway at White Plains Road in the Allerton section of the Bronx.
Michael Elardo, 48, of Syosset was charged with leaving the scene of an accident after surrendering to police earlier this week.
The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is being treated for head and internal injuries.
