Animal rights groups have stepped up their calls to ban carriage horses following an incident in Central Park.
A carriage horse broke loose from its reins from and ran around Central Park Monday afternoon, only stopping when the carriage got caught in the door of a taxi.
Holiday shoppers and tourists watched as the animal went down Sunday at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Three tourists from Ohio and a hansom cab driver were injured when the carriage was flipped on its side by the crash late Monday night, knocking the horse onto the street.
