Cuomo, VP Biden Unveil Federal Storm Response Plan To Shore Up NY’s Infrastructure

After being hit by Hurricanes Lee and Irene and superstorm Sandy — three so-called “once in a lifetime” weather events — and a total of nine presidentially-declared weather disasters in three years, Gov. Cuomo said he wants to make sure New York is “storm ready.”

Gov. Cuomo Proposes Plan For $1.7B In Sandy Aid; Some Will Go To Irene, Lee

Nearly $260 million will be used to reduce the risk of future damage. Over $170 million will cover voluntary buyouts to residents in flood areas.
