Postal Worker Acquitted In Hit-And-Run Accident That Left Attorney Alan Dershowitz’s Sister-In-Law Dead
After the not guilty verdict was handed down, Ian Clement expressed relief and his sympathy for the Dershowitz family. Dershowitz’s husband Nathan, who is a lawyer, said after the verdict that he believes in the jury system but wished he had been part of the prosecution team.

Postal supervisor Marina Garcia testified that she repeatedly asked Clement why he drove off and did not get out of his truck. Clement just shrugged and had a nervous smile, Garcia testified.

Driver Ian Clement has been charged with leaving the scene of the accident after his truck hit and killed 68-year-old Marilyn Dershowitz. Clement’s defense is that he did not know he had hit the woman.
