Conn. Governor Malloy Issues ‘Katrina-Like Warning’ To Residents Who Defied Evacuation Orders

At a news conference, Malloy urged anyone trapped in their home by water to move to the highest point possible. That includes the roof for those in single-floor homes, Malloy said.

Diesel Excise Tax In Conn. Jumps To More Than 51 Cents A Gallon

Combined with the federal tax, Chris Herb of the Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association said the total amounts to nearly 76 cents a gallon, making it the highest diesel tax in the nation.
