Infield Fly Umpire, Sam Holbrook Part Of ALCS Crew

Sam Holbrook, the umpire who made the controversial infield fly call that enraged the Atlanta Braves and their fans in the NL wild card game, was picked as part of the crew for the AL championship series.

Infield Fly Call Leads To Renewed Cries For Replay

Major League Baseball found itself embroiled in another postseason maelstrom over umpires — and renewed calls for increased use of instant replay.

The reality is that baseball “experts” sometimes don’t understand baseball rules, that the right call was made and virtually everybody didn’t understand it.
