A Turkish court has sentenced 47-year-old Ziya Tasali to life in prison for killing Sarai Sierra in Istanbul last year.
In his first testimony in court, Ziya Tasali, 46, admitted killing Sarai Sierra but denied accusations that he had sexually assaulted her, the private Dogan news agency reported.
Sarai Sierra, a 33-year-old mother of two, was found dead on Feb. 2, nearly two weeks after she was reported missing during a solo vacation in the city. The suspect, identified as Ziya Tasali, was on the run for more than a month, before being nabbed.
