New Yorkers will get the chance to see an electric vehicle some say should replace the city’s horse-drawn carriages when it debuts this week at the New York International Auto Show.

New York City is hosting the event where police and firefighters from 70 countries will team up to compete in 69 sporting events that will take place one week before the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
