A suspect who police say punched a 62-year-old Brooklyn man in Union Square Park has been indicted on a charge of manslaughter as a hate crime.
On Tuesday in court, prosecutors said a grand jury will consider manslaughter and perhaps hate crime charges against the man accused of brutally attacking a man in Union Square last week.
Jeffrey Babbitt slipped into a coma and had been declared brain-dead at Bellevue Hospital after he was randomly attacked in Union Square last week, police said.
