A Bay Shore man was arrested and charged Saturday with felony DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device.
Store clerk Reynaldo Cuevas died early Friday morning after fleeing from Natalie Grocery at 169th Street and Franklin Avenue in the Morrisania section, said NYPD Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.
Torres’ parents called Thursday’s arrest the miracle they’ve been waiting for. Detectives found the key evidence at the original crime scene, but they couldn’t trace it until now.
Authorities said the escape was not planned, but rather Jose Garcia just decided to start climbing the fence surrounding the exercise yard at the Riverhead Long Island Correctional Facility.
