The former acting boss of the Bonanno crime family was found guilty in May. The same jury decided to spare him the death penalty last month.
The jury deliberated less than two hours in federal court in Brooklyn before reaching the decision in the penalty phase at the trial of Vincent “Vinny Gorgeous” Basciano.
Judge Nicholas Garaufis said he’ll turn over the transcript to authorities who deal with ethical issues.
Vincent “Vinny Gorgeous” Basciano, 51, was already was serving a life sentence for an attempted murder conviction in 2007.
