A New York man has been arrested at New York’s Kennedy International Airport after authorities discovered a trench knife and several other blades in his carry-on bag.
The proposal had drawn fierce opposition from lawmakers, airlines and others who said it would place passengers and crews at risk.
The opposition surrounding the Transportation Security Administration’s decision to allow small knives on airplanes continues to grow.
The “No Knives Act” moves to stop the new TSA policy from taking effect as planned on April 25.
The incident took place at 8:25 p.m. Sunday. The NYPD says two patrol officers were notified of a dispute taking place in front of 225 East 45th Street.
