Suffolk County Police arrested a woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars while employed at a residential facility for individuals with special needs in Port Jefferson Station on Tuesday.
The alleged scheme involves contractors doing unsolicited work on residents’ homes, the Clarkstown Police Department said.
The incidents took place between July 21 and Nov. 26 of last year. The most recent crime took place on Maple Avenue in which the suspect took cash from a victim’s purse.
Police were searching Wednesday for a suspect who stole cell smart phones and iPads from subway passengers in Brooklyn and Queens between mid-November and last week.
