For years and even as recently as a few months ago, the mayor grumbled whenever anyone asked him about his legacy.
Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio on Sunday said the man whom he will soon replace has many achievements to his credit, but still took Mayor Michael Bloomberg to task for what he said was the outgoing mayor’s failure to address inequality.
According to the group Legacy, there were 287 billion cigarettes sold in the U.S. in 2011, the most recent year with data available. Of those, seven billion were sold in New York.
