There will be no dramatic Super Bowl return for Darrelle Revis. Head coach Rex Ryan said Revis will have surgery next week to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, suffered almost three weeks ago at Miami.
The New York Jets are lean, and not in a good way. Excluding Santonio Holmes, who was placed on injured reserve following Week 4 with a Lisfranc injury to his left foot, the Jets have 19 players on their injured list — the most in the NFL.
The Jets need something, and putting Tebow in the lineup would certainly change the chemistry. Perhaps one or two Tebow plays might alter things. It’s a long shot at best, but at least it’s an opportunity to regain hope.
