‘Friends Of The High Line’ Floats Hanging A Huge Locomotive Over The Park

Have they gone loco? The design team of the High Line park is floating an unusual idea by artist Jeff Koons. He wants to hang a full-size replica of a steam locomotive from a crane above a part of the park.

NJ Transit Unveils New Dual-Mode Locomotive

NJ Transit on Wednesday will unveil its first locomotive that can operate on diesel fuel and electricity. Spokesman Dan Stessel said it’s the first of its kind on any railroad in North America.

Engine Fire Stops Amtrak Train En Route To NY

Spokeswoman Vernae Graham says the three engineers on board the locomotive got out safely when the fire occurred just before 6 a.m. Wednesday.
