The New Jersey Devils’ losing streak now stands at seven games, after the Buffalo Sabres scored the only goal in a shootout Sunday night and beat the Devils 3-2.
Rookie Leo Komarov and Tyler Bozak scored and the Toronto Maple Leafs extended the reeling New Jersey Devils’ losing streak to six games with a 2-1 victory on Saturday night.
“It is what it is,” said manager Terry Collins. “He’s going to have to realize there’s lots of things that come with pitching in the big leagues, and one of them might be to stop a losing streak.”
The Washington Capitals celebrated when they ended an eight-game skid. The New Jersey Devils might do the same if they can break a road losing streak of the same length – the second-longest such slide in team history.
The Nets may be riding an eight-game losing streak, but they’re likely feeling good about hosting the stumbling Washington Wizards.
The Nashville Predators have won their last four home games against the New York Islanders, two by shutout. Anders Lindback may give them a great chance at getting another.
“I don’t understand why we’re not playing with the urgency,” a visibly dejected Stoudemire said Sunday.
After losing three of four, the San Jose Sharks are looking to get back on track. Joe Thornton’s return from suspension should help, as should facing the New York Islanders.
I’m not saying the season is over for the Islanders, but confidence has definitely swung in the opposite direction.
