A report released on Tuesday said P.S. 106 elementary school principal Marcella Sills should be fired from her job because she was often absent or late to work.
Marcella Sills of PS 106 is accused of a list of offenses, including allegedly asking staffers to falsify timecards to cover what is being called a long-standing habit of her chronic absences and leaving work on the sly.
Principal Marcella Sills is under fire over her leadership at P.S. 106 in Far Rockaway, which was hit hard by Superstorm Sandy. More than a year later, the school still doesn’t have enough textbooks for students and other basics.
Parents have reported some signs of progress, but many remained frustrated with the principal Wednesday at beleaguered P.S. 106 in Far Rockaway, which has been slammed as the city’s worst school with its lack of textbooks and gym classes.
The school is still struggling to recover from superstorm Sandy, much like many of the families. PS 106 lost a building to the Oct. 2012 storm and students still attend class in trailers.
